Smart with Mirror

Mirror was a great interior accessories indeed. One that could only happen with the initiative of interior design firm A2J Design at their Springhill show unit project in Kemayoran. And the generosity of Ary Juwono, interior designer who informed me about this smart mirror aplication for small spaces.

What a joy to find a medium size apartment can create such extravagant look. Mirror apllication as the wall treatment in apartment can elongate space effortless. Hexagonal pattern become the beauty of the mirror shape ideas.

Living room

Back to the interior, I'll take you through room by room. Our fisrt tour is the living room. Here the combination from the hexagonal glasses as a window divider, you can see how the gloriously packaged these stuffs are. I personally think the idea of pairing them with neutral sofa, bright red Eeg Chair and hangging lamp polished with cowhide carpets is fascinating.

House of bottle

What's the first thing you ask after you decide to visit an architect house? That's right, the design. And almost every time, you'll stumble upon the usual three question: are they modern, what kind style of architecture they use, and how's the interior. Guess what? You will find any of them here and absolutely with the recycle obsession as the eccentric green house in town.

From far you can't see there's something strange about this house. They look tropical modern, medium and well designed. But if you get closer, you can see the entire wall is actually made from the thousand of drink bottles create as the facade case. I just wondering, how they do that? and where did Ridwan Kamil, the owner known as the architect, found this crazy ideas? My biggest question only one, are they safe?

Unfortunately Ridwan wasn't there when I visited his house, even there so many questions I want to ask but I guess I have to keep it for my self for while. Her wife Atalia, who hosting me that day toghether with her daughter Zara, showed me inside the house. Same thing with his creativity at outside, the living room area and the courtyard add tenderness to the house with a extra kick of unique reception area. Subtle line with grand circular lamp at the stair, but it makes the difference.

I had one of my most memorable moment among my many house review adventures. The kitchen and dining room area was the heart in very houses. As a reviewer who likes it cozy and casual, it is a rare occasion that I don't arguing when I see their dining and kitchen room. The formal and architectural flavor was all there. The long white modern of kitchen cabinet was well seasoned with modern wood dining table set. Designed just at the right medium size, with big void to the master bed room, resulting in one appetizing fleshly family and entertaining pleasure.

On a side note, I also find the kids window pool quite lovely. It's like a cross-ventilation between straight family room and the small pool. You still can watch the kids swimming while you watching TV and the window size is just a notch shorter than usual. With the see trough of glass window, it was one relaxing of fun activity at the house.

Tell you what, when you stayed here, it won't be just a house. In my case it transformed into an enticing conversation with the design it self. Being a architect and a designer himself, his house design welcomed both me and my photographer taking photos of the house. I even stood on how he think  house should be enetertaining not only for the guest but also for his family and kids. Such a cool dad.

Colonial Cool....

I had one of my most memorable moment among my interior journalism adventures. This bold interior concept from Accent Hadiprana was a treat. As a interior junkie who likes it comfortable chic, it is a rare occasion that I don't do re-arrangemnet when I have my interior photo shoot there. But as it turned out, I didn't have to.

Tom Dixon lamp

Black, red and copper palette

The flavor was all there. The red glamour Indonesian meet industrial as a Tom Dixon bronze chandelier was well seasoned with red and black velvet chairs. Blend-in just at the right medium well of colonial mood, resulting in one appetizing interior pleasure.

Great atmosphere. Sammy Hendramianto and Accent Hadiprana team, extreamly success creating a place styled with from a ethnic parlor, it has gone through a lot of changes to get to the right glamour mood. The warm colonial, industrialist atmosphere is well crafted with dark grey walls, padded wall and a lot of wood characters. I can imagine sinking myself into one of the glamour corners, having a good conversation with friends, or having formal diner celebration. Nice.

Fun Oriental Look

Imagine an intimate space resembling your home, with the complimentary comfort of chinoseries decoration with bright and pop up colours and pleasing good selection of high quality furniture. I'm lucky to have a chance to see the fun collaboration of 12 ID with Elite Grahacipta.

From each room presentation, the ones that speak to my tastebuds are first and foremost is the fun Chinese foyer using Imari plates as the wall decoration create by Eko Priharseno. The full flavor of Chinoseries meets the play of red shocking wall are a feast in my eyes that I can overlook the extra hint of funky decor with lots of animal acessories in the end.

Bright enterance with Imari plates, you can have it similar in Rfantiques

Pop art meet classical touch with Baccarat lamp

My next favorite room is the living room area created by Yuni Jie. I feel totaly comfort chic over here, like a home away from home. A place where I could sit at one of relaxing corner with style, and simply read, write, and welcoming my guest. Imagine my self staying here in the afternoon nearing sunset, feel pretty coz the room make you feel that way if you get what I mean. The stripes carpets look very stunning with the structured sofa and wall divider. And the red hangging chandelier is completed the perfect finale.

Modern oriental livingroom with Martha Stewart coffee table

For me, this red corner seating was a wonderful visual entertaining. This feminin red sofa is worth to try in yellow wallpaper and white porcelen acessories. Trying out new ideas of decoration always put me in a good mood despite of the luxury, and most importantly for the joy of having a great inspiration of good room decoration.

Sexy red sofa

Anyways, by the end of this experience, I felt so Chinoseries that I think I'd stay away from anything remotely related for a while. This room inspiration is pretty but not for daily basis. I need to refresh my inspiration with something light and easy to live. Beside, the food decoration around the room is so tempting. I'm afraid If I'm staying here to long I'm gonna eating the food display. Haha!

Puncak Modern Tropical Retreat..

If I having weekend home to go on retreat, I figure I should get away from malls and fancy restaurants once in a while. And this the reason why I envy my client friend who owned this fabolus villa as their weekend home and it takes only one and half hour driving from Jakarta (If the traffic is not bad). And I decided to venture out this good looking villa after hearing a lot of happy-praises from Yuni Jie, my designer friend who designing this villa.

Dramatic foyer
At the first sight, the front door was a clear hunch that I was about to enter a contemporaryland. But I did not expect that until I see the wood Gebyok panel inside and started to see one open modern reception room in very cold Puncak wheater feel like bring the cloud in. I love the juxtapost that Yuni serve in this open reception area.

Two storey from out side

Back of the foyer area
And without further opinion, there came the open living room at the back of the foyer and the open air seating room who have a view to the long olympic swimming pool. I must admit, in here the Puncak natural view is a much better than I ever see before. I suppose the owner have to struggle and waiting to get this best view property on hand. The hand made chandelier look stunning with the modern rattan chair. Even without too much luxury this room tasted super!

Art wall from Venus Tile

Outdoor living room

I'm exaggerating of course, but I need to feel warm, and this indoor living room created with glass wall so that you can visually see the mountain view experience and hear the sound of the jungle that was being conversed fluently by one bird to another bird. The Livingroom feel so relaxed. The breakfast nook is very neat country look, with the brass chandelier and wood chair.

Open void breakfast room

The white open kitchen is also feel light in modern style. Yuni put the right amount of long chunk thick wood table at front and feel the open dining and kitchen ready to entertain the owner to welcoming their guest.

Great atmosphere. The bed room sucessed to feel as a place who feel not like the villa room, but as the city room with the natural view. The warm, modern contemporary atmosphere is well crafted with rattan furniture, modern furniture and a lot of wood characters. I can imagine sinking myself into this cozy bedroom, having a good read, or just enjoying the cold air.

Pardon me if I feel extra sleepy right now. I'm being influence by the visual of cold Puncak and I can't help my eyes to shut down. Oh let me know what you think on this villa interior as well.

Batik Villa in Bali

Sounds strange doesn't it? But this is real. Once again Hidajat Endramukti, the designer, proved his skill in collaborating the ethnic elements into a fun interior. This time is a villa owned by one of his clients in Bali. The owner back ground from Java inspired Hidajat to create Javanese Batik to become the  part of the interior, the result is very outstanding, etnic but still looks comfortable and cozy like typical beach villas in Bali. Like you see in the living room and bedrooms, all curtains fabric and bedspread, using the combination of light-colored batik motifs, from Parang to Cirebon batik.

Pure Zen Sensation

As I was photographing this apartment for my interior book, it was like entering a home with blend of yoga and New York mood. Designed by Studio Air PutihJoke Roos, this apartment successfully combines oriental elements with modern furniture. As you can see in the dining room, the Sky Garden chandelier lamp from Flos (designeed by Marcel Wandersmatch with the round dining table and sweet tasel decoration on both sides. My favorite area in the apartment is the living room and the master bedroom. The tatami concept at the master bedroom in gray and white palette, making the room feel airy and serene.
